The lock features a durable, fingerprint-resistant touchscreen keypad. To unlock, simply enter your pre-set 4-digit user code. The touchscreen illuminates for easy visibility in various lighting conditions. Multiple user codes can be programmed and managed.

To lock the deadbolt from the exterior, simply press the Schlage button on the touchscreen. The motorized deadbolt will extend. From the interior, the deadbolt can be locked or unlocked manually by rotating the thumbturn. The lock also supports auto-locking functionality.

This smart lock is compatible with Z-Wave systems, including Amazon Alexa (hub required, sold separately), Vera, and SmartThings. The lock is powered by four AA alkaline batteries (included). When the batteries are low, the lock will provide an audible and visual low battery warning. To replace the batteries, remove the interior cover to access the battery pack. If the batteries completely drain, the lock can still be operated using the physical backup key.

The Schlage Connect deadbolt includes a built-in audible alarm with three selectable modes:

• Activity Alert: Beeps every time the door opens or closes (two short beeps). Useful for monitoring door activity while at home.
• Tampएर अलर्ट: Sounds a 15-second alarm if the door knob/lever is disturbed. Ideal for monitoring secondary entry points or when everyone is home for the night.
• Forced Entry Alert: Sounds a shrill siren for approximately three minutes if significant force is applied to the door. Designed to deter break-ins.
